Like I said, check the monitor for an input button or something like that.
Just looked at the user's manual and try pushing the "SOURCE" button.

DVI is faster, because you dont have to go through ANY conversions. when you have an LCD and you use VGA you have to convert it from digital to analog, back to digital, which slows things down to a degree. with DVI it doesnt have to go through ANY conversions, therefore faster.
it rarely provides a "clearer picture" unless the RAMDAC your video card has is ancient and isnt as good as the new ones that are almost flawless in the Digital to Analog conversion
