PCI-E 2.0 question.

Hi,

I am thinking that the GTS (g92) is going to be my choice as I hear that they run very close to GTX levels for a lot less money.

However - I just wanted to check if the PCI-E 2.0 was anything to do with that on the benchmarks, as I only have a standard PCI-E x 16 slot. (Gigabyte GA965p-DS4.

Basically if I get the GTS will it not be able to perform at its full capacity? In that case would I be better of with the GTX?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well PCI Express Base 2.0 specification doubles the interconnect bit rate from 2.5 GT/s to 5 GT/s in a seamless and compatible manner. The performance boost to 5 GT/s is by far the most important feature of the PCI Express 2.0 specifications. It effectively increases the aggregate bandwidth of a 16-lane link to approximately 16 GB/s. The higher bandwidth will allow product designers to implement narrower interconnect links to achieve high performance while reducing cost.
