I'm gonna get the 8600gt for my build. But I was just wondering, what is the advantage of the 512mb vs the 256mb version? Its about a good $40 bucks more.

For low-midrange card like the 8600GT, there won't be much difference as you won't be playing games at 1600x1200 etc, so 512MB of VRAM isn't required.

Cool. Thanks man. I was just wondering because I wanna get a cheap graphics card (for now), but yet still decent for things like photoshop and a few minor games etc...

Yeah, the 8600GT 256MB is fine for stuff like that.
