How are you getting the taskbar transparent (somewhat) like that? I haven't been able to...and it pisses me off.

Right click on Desktop, Select Personalise, and under Windows appearance (or something similar), make sure that Enable Transparancy is checked.

To get the taskbar transparent you have to have the Vista Theme called Aero Enabled
Right click on your Desktop and hit customize then select the them one and select AEro
