My wish list...

Everything looks compatible, but I didn't see a motherboard.

If your going to spend that much on a CPU, why not get the QX9650?

forgot to move it ...

The mother board was the best I could find that was SLI compatible for Intel.

Also upgraded it to the QX9650 processor. I did not see that one at first thanks.

Everything looks good, but I have a couple of suggestions. I would get a Logitech G15 keyboard and a Razer Lachesis or Logitech G9 mouse.

There is also a new version of the G15. They changed the color and removed the flip-up LCD screen for a stationary one, and less programmable G-keys.

Thanks a lot for the help. I actually already bought a mouse, but I did like the keyboard and that processor is great too. OC to 4.0Ghz /drool

Ummm that build sucks!

Joking thats a pretty bad ass build man! The PSU might not be enough for 2 8800GTX's though. Everything else looks great. Are you actually buying that or is that a dream build?

No, I will build that. Gotta save my money. I am in the Navy and on submarines... so it wont be hard.

Meh the Asus Striker Extreme isn't that good, trust me. I have it on my brothers build, and its already deleted the RAID array I created.
It's also in my eyes, impossible to overclock very well, compared to like say, an Abit. Its expensive too, considering you don't get anything extra really worth having.

Instead of the 8800GTX, go for the 8800GTS (512 version), as it'll perform almost as good for half the price.

Also for the processor, just get a Q6600 and overclock it with a good motherboard. There is no point spending THAT much on a processor when you can do the manual work, and get something faster than that at stock. Its just a waste of money in my opinion, as with getting the Q6600 (A LOT CHEAPER) you aren't missing out on anything that you can't manually perform yourself to get the same speed. Trust me.

You'll save a lot of money, something you said you wanted to do.

Good choice on the Samsung hard drive though. They are amazing for the money, and very quiet too.

I'd agree with the majority of your statement except the CPU if he's going for the highest possible clock speed. That 45nm will hit 4Ghz on Air pretty easy. Q6600 your looking around 3.6Ghz on air. If he's got money to burn may as well go high end. IMO 3.6Ghz looks better for $270 than $1200 looks for 4ghz though. The cpu he wants will go higher than a Q6600.

Fair point, but yeah, an extra grand for 400mhz faster clock speed? It'll run cooler, but...is it really worth it? I'd rather spend that on something more worth while, like accessories to use with the computer.

Theres rich people, and then rich people that use the money wisely :p
