i got a new windows xp disc

ok i got a new windows xp disc so i could pretty much reboot my whole computer and start from scratch and it wont let me install everytime i instal it it takes me to choose program screen and i choose every program on there and it didnt work can some one help me

are you booting with the xp disc in or r u putting it in while the computer is on?

i boot with it in my computer it works best

it dosnt boot strate up it jus goes to my desk top

You have to set it to boot from CD. Go into your bios and choose the CD/DVD drive your launching it from and make sure thats your first boot. When it says hit any key to boot from CD hit a key and format and install windows. It should be f8 or delete to get into your bios.

have any of you guys been able to use your windows xp cd more than once? the upgrade one? ive so far used it 5 times, on the same rig of course (hd kept erasing then i got a new one)(one time i had to call for to get the cdkey, they were very helpful =D)

you can use the same cd key on the same computer loads of times. its just if you switch pc's there will be a problem.
f8, delete, f10, f12 are the common bios keys from what i have seen. my laptop also has a boot menu if i press f12 so i dont need to use the bios, which is useful. just have a look. it should be pretty self explanitory
