Gaming shut-downs, PLEASE HELP!

yer, 94 is high , computers automatically shut down at a temperature near that, i think its 105,
download rivia tuner and see if you can control the fan speed, put it on 100 when your playing games

Do you think that heat could be the cause of the shut-downs and "lock-ups...ect. while playing games? Also, what should my GPU's fan speed be set at? Thanks!

Okay, RivaTune didn't really help, but I went into NVIDIA Control Panel and there was a setting there. I changed it to "Direct Control." Then I changed the fan to 90%. It said that this is the value at which it will opperate in "3d Mode." Hope it works.

Some of the dispatch models on the 8600GT's can give off an annoying hum when you spin the fans at high speeds and i can get annoying during gameplay, if it does consider installing a more specialised quieter case fan to cool the GPU, then you can run the GPU fan at a more reasonable speed and get the same cooling effect

You could quite simply have a bad video card. Contact Sparkle's customer service/support or the merchant you got it from and tell them of the problem.

probably your gfx is plain not really good. i have never had a tempature problem ever on any graphics card, even running graphics intensive games.
90+ F is definatly hot. its the cards problem most likely

You need temperatures under load. Idle temperatures don't mean anything.

Enable temperature logging in the nVidia Control Panel, there's an option somewhere. Go into your game and play for a good while, and check what the temperatures were. Also, you might as well turn your fan up to 100%.
