anti virus

It would depend on the virus location, if it is your restore points you need to delete those to remove the virus, that would be the most common one I can think of

also AVG Antispyware Free and AVG Anti rootkit
 
Yeah some viruses cant be removed straight away so that get quarantined in the volt till the AV gets a fix, you can however delete some viruses that are in the system restore file by deleting the file then turning off your system restore then turning it back on again but it is wise to back up everything before hand just in case, Viruses that are hard to delete are the ones that get into the W32 SYSTEM FILES these are your main OS files and have to be treated with care and thought, if you do get any in these quarantine and investigate before taking drastic action.
