2 shuttles destroyed out of 120 missions. Do you know how much radioactive waste there is? Thousands of tons. That would be a LOT of missions. So even if there was only a 1% rate of failure, that would still be a good few failures.
Not to mention the expenses. It's not at all economical to send it to space. Estimates are AT LEAST $60 million per launch. And one rocket can't even hold that much...
On paper, it's a good idea. In practice, not so much.
