I just got back from work. I just got hired at a Hot Topic store and I think the job sucks major ass. I didnt even want to apply there considering the fact that I dont like the music, apparel, style, or anything about the store. I need to suck it up because I like money, money is gonna buy me my new computer rig:D . What I really want to do is work at Best Buy, CompUSA........something I enjoy. Thats why I am going for my A+!

Anyway, thats my little rant about my suck ass job. What about you guys?

in the spring\summer time im a little leauge ump, get to watch little kids play some baseball :) get payed too. although its not an easy job, you dont pay attetion (easy not to, these kids arent the best) and you can get screwed over pretty bad.

also the heat is tremendous, 105f+ in full gear for 3 hours and you being the only ump (a fan being the base ump, long story) wasnt the best of my games.

I'm an Officer for the Los Angeles Police Department.

Prior to being a Cop, I was the Store Manager of a Togo's, As well as a Business Tech Specialist at Best Buy.

I hate the sun. I used to work construction and although I enjoyed the manual labor and such, the sun was always the one to kick my ass at the end of the day.

Ah, thats cool. What sort of credentials would you need for a Tech Specialist at Best Buy? Just curious.

I work for a East Coast trucking company. I do there detail work. The jobs decent and pays alright. I don't really deal with anyone and only see my shop foreman on break. Other than that he leaves me alone and lets me do my job. Plus I get a week off once a month thats paid. I just go in crank the radio and rock out all night.

The downside would be this time of year. Sucks going out in the cold. This past weekend was bad with high winds low temps and lots of ice. Spending a few hours at a time out in that is rough.

Seems like an interesting job. That reminds me, I had the cold too lol.

Credentials? Best Buy doesn't work that way. I was not an actual Tech Guy (Geek Squad Agent). I was a Business Technology Specialist. I dealt with all the Business Customers that came in that needed our assistance, whether it be Software/Hardware or Server Installs. If you want to be a Bus Tech Spec you are required to be Microsoft Small Business Certified.

Money as a Business Professional isn't bad(Small Business Certification Not required for Job) caps at about 15, Business Technology Specialist (Must be Small Business Certified), Caps around 24..I was at the Cap.

As for Geek Squad. No Certs required, Unless you want to be a Double/Special Agent who are in the field(Double Agents do the store salesfloor work that was sold, and Special Agents do the Larger Business installs...ie...Servers, Internet Video Surveillance, Etc ,Etc.). Those guys are required to have my Cert as well as a few others I can't think of off the top of my head.

If your considering being a Bus Tech Pro/Specialist, the best advice I can give you is product Knowledge....Business Pros/Specialists are expected to be able to sale absolutely everything and anything in every Department as your likely to float the store in search of Business Customers.
