Ideal Cpu temp?

I fail to see how anyone can comment given the basic facts that are missing

a) Which cpu is it??

b) Is that reading idle or load

c) What were the readings taken with

d) What is the ambient air temperature

I guess i'm just pedantic I suppose.

AMD Dual core 5600+ 2.8Ghz
Please explain number 2, I took it while my comp was running, with progs
Speedfan, so not entirely accurate
No idea, average?

is that stock fan/heatsink?
cuz i have that processor for my new build, sittin right next to me, and im curious

To fully stress test a cpu you need a programme like Prime95 or Orthos

Average air temp in F just what the room temperature is would help.

You sometimes get people saying my cpu runs at 25°C blah blah blah, but what they don't tell you is they're sitting in a room so cold that they'd have to sit down to pee cause the old fella is in hiding, on the other side of the coin are the people panicing because their cpu is 35°C yet their air temperature is in the high 20's to low 30's, it all has to be taken into account before saying a temp is good or bad.

For instance these guys who posted above have no idea of your ambient temps, it could be 5°C which would make your cpu temp totally unacceptable or it could be 35°C which would make your cpu temp miraculous, if you get my drift.

;)

Also an extremely valid point
