buying new pc, need oppinion on parts list

it's going to be a bit of everything. i'm going to be doing video and picture editing along with a fair bit of gaming.

also weight is not really an issue. the only time it's going to move off my desk is for an occational lan party and that's 2-4 times a year.

In that case, I'd do this:
Change the RAM to 2 GB G.Skill. It's MUCH cheaper, and if you need more RAM in the future, buy another 2 gigs. Saves $85.

Get the Antec Truepower Trio 550W PSU I recommended instead of that 850 watt one. That saves you $80.

That saves you $165. With that money, upgrade the video card. Either get an 8800GT or one of the new 8800GTS cards. An overclocked 8800GT might be a good choice:

G.Skill is awesome for the price. Although you should always be skeptical of the newegg reviews, I think over 800 5/5 reviews and a customer's choice award prove it singlehandedly.

true. i think i'm going to go with 2 gigs of OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 2GB (2 x 1GB). they have good reviews and come with their own coolers. might buy some g skill on the next prodject. i'm thinking about getting an AMD 6400+ black box next if the AMD quads arn't reasonable and see how that is.
