Subwoofer

So I got a new subwoofer friday, and I was comparing it to my Logitech X-230 Sub. It's a 12 inch JBL sub.

So the question is, do you have a subwoofer?

A subwoofer is a very large speaker that outputs alot of bass, it can be used for music, some people put them in their car and you hear the block shake

well what makes it any different from just two stereo speakers?

Here's a pic of mine under the desk to show you how big it is

And here's a pic of the whole sub.

The difference is, look at the stereo speakers on top of my desk and look at the sub

If I were to use the stereo speakers as a sub, they would get distorted at high volumes. The sub plays the bass part only.

thats a huge one, the one in my lounge room is about that big.
i have the the ones that comes in the z-530's they pump alot of air

for some reason in that picture it looks a lot bigger than 12". More like 15" or even 18".

I have like a 6" or whatever it is in the JBL unit. It could be 8", but it's fairly compact. Pretty nice but doesn't play ballin' beats or anything, but it is high clarity.
