Memory detection problem

My memory DDR400 is being detected as DDR200:( ...

What I did was to change some settings in the BIOS setup.
There is this setting in the memory section that is set to auto which the motherboard in default only detects ddr200. And so I set it to manual and it detects the memory as ddr400.

But now the problem is when I boot my system the operating system XP does not allow the new BIOS settings and the computer keeps on restarting and restarting byitself...

The Motherboard manual says that the board is built for DDR400 but this problem happens... Any solutions ?

Sounds like the ram cant cope with the new settings. You can reset the CMOS by removing the powercable from the PC and then removing the battery from the mobo for a min, or using the jumper next to the battery. Its possible that the DDR200 setting is correct as the ram is double data rate, so 2x200=400:)
