upgrading question

whats up guys im looking at upgrading my processor i currently have a celaron 4 processor 2.40ghz with 1gb ddr ram if i change the processor can i still use ddr and what size brand processor do u guys recomend thnx for the help

What socket is it? Use CPU-Z to find out. CPU-Z

Well, with a 2.4GHz P4 it's probably socket 478... Socket 775 is like 3GHz and up I think.

well I guess it doesn't take too much logic to figure out that it's a celeron, at least I thought it was quite obvious..

Anyway, find out which mobo you have (cpu-z will tell you this too) and then check if the mobo supports pentium 4 processors. Most likely it will, but it's best to make sure.

And yes, as long as you use a mobo that accepts ddr then you can use it.
