Christmas presents

That's an ultra compact, and not a very good one at that.

The S700, my aunt has one of those. I didn't find any real problems with it, but it wasn't spectacular.

The A570IS are great for anything but low light level shooting. If you read reviews you'll know which camera is truly suited for you. What are you exactly going to use the camera for?

Also if you shoot alot inside, It's great to have a wide angle lens (28mm)

yea, I'd only buy Cannon. Nikon is okay, but Cannon owns. Don't make the mistake my dad did (twice, on separate occasions fist he didn't know, and listened to salesmen, and 2nd he wanted to get the same camera for my sisters in case we get a Kodak easy share printer, even though I told him the color is bad) and buy a Kodak. they have very bad color and are very slow.

That came from a Kodak, but I'm looking for a different type of camera anyway.

I'm looking for general use, mostly outside. I take a lot of car photos. But mostly I'm looking for a high quality outside camera, and I don't see myself shooting that much at night.
