I have a question

I have a dvd decoder ready to go for my dell xp so I can get my movies on my ipod. The problem is, is that my computer doesn't recognize any dvds I put in it. I'm thinking this may be due to the fact that I only have a CD-RW Drive.

I don't care about watching dvds on my computer, I just want the ability to decode them to get them onto my ipod.

How can I get this done?

You'll need to score a DVD drive. You can find good brands for under 50 bucks. I like Samsung. A cd drive just can't read a dvd disc. But a dvd drive can read a cd.

Might as well get a DVD burner, they're standard these days. Here's a good one that's pretty cheap:
