Jumper question on my 500gb Seagate 7500rpm 16mb cache

"ok i dont know exactly how to do it, but here is a program to do it with, you cant do it with windows
http://www.symantec.com/norton/produ...d=sp&pvid=pm80
im sure you can find out how to do it in the help files

also, if your going to merge them, dont format it with windows, leave the space unformatted for now and see if partition magic can merge the drive with unformatted space first, if it can just quick format it"

Um did u know that program is not free right? I would like to merge the drives still, but do you know a way that I can do it at no cost?

I have used G-parted in the past. It's free, and relitively easy to use.

http://gparted.sourceforge.net/

They say it shouldn't mess data or anything (so you shouldn't need to worry about your windows install or formatting), but I would still backup everything just to play it safe.

It looks like the versions have changed a bit since I last used it, so hopefully this guide will help. http://www.howtoforge.com/partitioning_with_gparted
