LG is pretty good. if you remember quasar (something like that) back a 10 years or so thats the same company, they learned from other companies so they now make pretty good products.

That's not true. Quasar is a value brand for Matsushita. (Panasonic) No affiliation with LG.

yea, it says it can accept a 1080i/p signal (say, from a bluray/hddvd player) and then scales it down to 1280x720 for it's own screen

you know that the tv is full HD when the native resolution of the tv is 1920x1080, meaning it doesnt scale at all.

because thats what the HDMI inputs\outputs will give you, i guess those TV's might be 1080p after all.

EDIT:
no it just means you could connect a PS3 to it (1080i) and it will convert it down w\o a problem.

Wow how's this one???? I really don't want her paying out more than 1K so maybe i'll just send her the difference on this one. This one looks pretty good and its full 1080P.

Toshiba 42" Regza LCD HDTV $1,199 so thats not to much over.

LMFAO Everytime I ask about something on these forums I always end up spending more than I originally posted.

Just curious though I can't find the actual Contrast Ratio on the TV. All the reviews on stuff i've been looking at they have been talking about this ratio and how you want 5000:1 or better. Does this one look good?

Edit in it says the Contrast Ratio is N/A why?
