Free Rice

I've done about 2000 altogether. It's said on Wikipedia that they actually haven't donated any rice yet. Sometimes I wonder about all these "click to give" schemes on the internet.

Where does it say that? I just looked it up and it stated that "to date the site's creator has handed over $100 000 to the WFP (United Nations' World Food Program)".

He admittedly gets his money from the on site advertising but has indeed donated a large sum of cash thus far.

Additional sources of its authenticity:

And most importantly, if you go to the United Nations World Food Program website you will see a banner right at the top linking to the Free Rice website.

There was a page debating the removal of the article, which I opposed, and several people noted that no donations were made at that time. It was a few weeks ago, the deletion notice is gone now so I guess the article stays and I guess they've donated since then.

The owner of the site pulls in a LOT of money

I doubt it. Sure, rice is cheap. But they have 1 add there. And those are pay per view adds so they give you around $0.01 or something per view. Now not only do those adds have to pay for the rice but they also need to pay for the hosting costs for the website etc.
