WinXP not recognizing my HD...

ok i found a (CORRECTION: Everest says its a 111Gb) Western Digital Hard Drive sitting around so i put it in my Comp.. The "New Hardware Found" popup came up like normal... but when i click My Computer its not there... I went to the WD site and saw about installing a driver but they dont have any for download... then i went to Windows Update (i figured the driver HAS to be there) Nothing.. Comp is 100% updated on everything... is there something else im supposed to do?

BTW i know its connected because Everest Ultimate Sees it

you have to format it, got to
Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Managment>Disk Managment

you should see your HDD with a bunch of "unallocated" space, right click and format it using the wizard it comes up with

Yes, you choose the destination partition.

yeah i have a data partition, its a hassle having to change the directory everytime you want to install something, but it keeps my data safe when i have to re install windows

im confused, what do you mean? he wants to install stuff on another drive, im telling him how to do it and my experience from it, you learn from experience
