Hello,

I am from australia which is now coming into summer. i have an NEC versa premium laptop which makes a noise from the fan when it gets hot. i have noticed that the fan does not constantly spin to cool the computer. is this a normal thing for this computer or is it stuffed?

mate ;)

Qld here :D

Summertime you need to have your lappy up on blocks to alow airflow around the base/underside.

Never have the base on a cloth surface, always get plenty of air moving around the case.

Another option is a laptop cooler pad if you want to spend $$$, google it, try StaticIce for Aus retailers

This thread actually helped me as well. I've run into the issue of my laptop over heating quite frequently. I figured as much for air flow, but I didn't know they made laptop cooler pads, very nice. Thanks!
