Screen resolution and colour settings

My laptop will not go beyond 16 bit colour when it is at its native reolution of 1400 x 1050, I do have the most up to date drivers for it. Is there a way to force the laptop to use better colour settings at this resolution? Thanks

Could you provide better details? Like what laptop it is laptop it is?

give us some specs and we'll help
and im pretty sure most laptops are either 1440x900, 1680x1050, or 1920x1200

Intel Intergrated 82815 Graphics
320MB RAM
Windows XP Home SP2
30GB HDD
Pentium III 850mhz
Native/Top Resolution is 1400x1050

It looks like your pretty much stuck at that color setting at that resolution.
