New Toshiba

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite X205-S7483. It has nice components but the processor seems to be laggin behind the rest of the machine. Its a Core 2 Duo: Centrino Duo rated at 1.66GHz. I was wondering if overclockin' it would help or if there's anything else I can really do to improve it's performance. And if there is a way, please give me a step by step procedure that's almost idiot prove. Thanks....

dont overclock a laptop
the end. i have a 1.6ghz c2d laptop i got a year ago and its really fast.
why is it lagging? slow programs, boot time...?
