Wanna see what happens when you shoot a hard drive?

Haha its not a problem of getting drives, it's getting up to shoot them. I'd like to see a normal range allow me to shoot one.

I think mine is sighted in for 100 yards... that or I suck majorly ^_^

cant you adjust the scope to focus at different distances

If only it was that easy. One click is like 1/4" at 25 yards, so you need to know how far the bullet will fall and all that fun crap so it takes a while to re-sight it at a different range.

mil dot. (well that's the only thing that comes to my mind)

ya, snipe a hard drive. LOL Just so happens I have a old 40 gig thats dead and just sitting in my closet but I don't own a gun.

A bit off topic but since we are on the topic of computer destruction, I would like to see someone have a computer all plugged in and then from a safe distance just throw a huge pail of water on it or shoot it with a hose.

mil dots, if you know the height of an object, and you have a scope\binoculars with mils on them, you can calculate the distance of the object, makes it much easier to focus in on it, although i guess your not going to do that at a HDD, since you know you have more than 1 shot.

dunno if they use mil dot ranging in hunting though, would seem logical though.

EDIT:

mils is a distance of measure, you have tiny dots on the crosshairs that represent a mil, or a fraction of one depending on what scope your using.

thats a simulation\teaching tool on how to mil dot range with a scope.
