Well for christmas i'm going to take my moms car for the day and go to a car electronic place and have one installed.

i'm pretty knowledgeable on car engines but i'm in the dark on electronics lol. so what would be a well rounded price for the install and buying of it so i know the guy isnt trying to rip me off?

i just want something that is remote started nothing fancy :D

Maybe forget about that, and do key less entry?

Its going to be hard to wire remote start your self, unless your power mechanics teacher at school knows how to do it.

why the hell can't they do it lol? my best friends dad has repair shop that specializes in car electronics and i asked him originally because i was scoping out these keyless entry/remote starts for like 70 bux.

so i asked my friends dad and he said go to a place that installs them and sells them because its much cheaper.

There are specialist workshops in England that fit them, in fact a friend of mine owns & runs one, I know that's of no use to you though, what's the age & make of the car?

I would say that around $200-$220 would be a fair price to pay for the remote start/keyless entry and install. There is a guy here that does it and thats about what he charges.

i was talking to my another one of my friends today and found out his dad did this type of stuff. he said that he would give me a round about price. and maybe even cut a little off since i'm his friend lol.

Thats cool, it's always nice to have friends.

If you are going to do it, you should get a keyless entry and remote start in one, because if you only do one, and later decide you want to do the other, then it's a huge pain to unwire everything and wire it up again. This is the advice of the guy I know that does it.
