HD 3870 or 8800GT?

i still would stick with the 8800gt very well supported because most people own the 8800 of they have a dx10 card
plus i just dont like amd and ati right now

I don't know what you're talking about, the difference between either of those cards SLIed and an 8800GTX is pretty substantial...

Actually, I dont know what you are talking about...

In one, the 8800gt beats the GTX, and this is a single GT, so 2 of them would really beat it.

Still dont believe it?

Wow, nice. Either way though, the SLI/Crossfire setup isn't worth it. Especially since he's planning on Crossfire with the 3870.

Yeah, I agree, I dont think its worth it to buy 2 at once, unless its ultras or something. But I also see where he is coming from. If he buys an 8800gt now for $280, and than in a year when the 9 series are out an strong, he can buy another 8800gt for $100 and it will add a lot of power to keep up with the 9s.

That's true, but I think he might be better off selling the current card and upgrading to a 9 series...unless they really start improving SLI technology. Right now, it's not very efficient.

two 3850s in crossfire provide the same performance as GTX, I'll post the link to it in a minute.
Wait Wait Wait...a 3870? Holy Sh!t! It looks like a powerful card
It does on paper, but nvidia's drivers exploit the games better.

Actualy I found some benches and it's not as fast as a GT, but it's damn close. It's around 4-10FPS difference. And it's cheap!
