yea, but Rudster, every little bit counts, yeah lower voltages would save, but wattages would too(less fan usage) SSD- not spinning platter, thumb drives instead of cd drives, and screens that only use power to change (in black and grey)

the reason lower voltages help is because the cpu itself uses less power. the reason they get so hot is because they use LOTS of power.

a C2D(desktop) uses 65 watts of power, the average soldering iron (to put it into perspective) uses 35-40 watts of power. so when you lower the voltages\speed, they use less wattage.
