Hard drive not working :( help

Ok so i have this little problem with my harddrive. It seemed to work before but only when i would mess around with the cabble and then it just worked...seemed wierd but now after moving houses and trying to set it up its just stoped working at all. I get that message that ses insert boot media or select proper boot device...I had this problem before i think and i used some disk which made the computer recognise the harddrive again but i cant remember what it was? can some one please help a noob out

have you tried a new cable?

no because i dont have the ability to get one right now but it should work ?

So if the hard drive is completly pluged in and its still not recognised in the bios its simple as replacing the cord ???

yea, its not seeing the drive, time for a new cable.
