Antivirus and antispyware.

I Keep on having problems with AVG so i want to know what is the best FREE Antvirus and Anti Spyware?

I use Avast as a antivirus and Comodo boclean, Adaware Se, Spybot, A2 Free and Superantispyware Free, for spyware, all seem to do the job.

Everytime i try to update,it says the the connection has timed out,i have reinstalled it twice and that has not fixed it.

I use Ad-Aware from Lavasoft. There is a free version and a version that you can buy, but the free version works very well for me. I also use SpySweeper from Webroot, had to buy that, but it was only like 20 bucks, and it works very well too. Microsoft also has an anti-spyware thing on their website, and I have found that it works well too.

Try this from the FAQ:

Perform the following procedure:

* run AVG Control Center
* mark the Update Manager component -> Settings (button in the bottom of AVG Control Center or an item in context menu (right-click by the mouse)
* if you are using a Proxy server, set appropriate values on the proxy tab
* if you are using a dial-up, set it on the Dial-Up tab
* check your firewall settings, the avginet.exe application from AVG Free program folder must be allowed to connect itself to the internet.

i tried that,its a piity i coldnt get it working,it was a very good anti virus,any other suggestions?
