I was just wanting to know if someone could direct me to a new power supply. I dont really exactly know which one I need. Here is the case and power supply I currently have: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=1289173&sku=A406-1030

The problem is my video card I want to use doesn't get enough power from the current 450 watt power supply.

If someone knows more what they are talking about, and can point me in the right direction to a cheap power supply upgrade, I would appreciate it.

Also, how many watts should I go to to make sure this will work?

thanks

Asus P4P800 SE Intel Socket 478 ATX Motherboard / Audio / AGP 8x / Gigabit LAN / S/PDIF / USB 2.0 / Serial ATA / RAID

Intel P4 3.0Ghz Socket 478 800 Mhz 32 bit

Seagate 250GB EIDE HD 7200/8MB/ATA-100

Ultra 1024MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory

Video card that I am trying to get working is GeForce 6200 256MB DDR AGP8x
but currently it is a Rage 128MB AGP Ultra

I dont know if this is needed but I also have:
Plextor 716A and a Lite-on SHD-16P1S / 16x DVD-ROM / 48x CD-ROM / Black / Internal / Drive

Sorry, hope this should help now.
Thanks

450W is enough for that system.
Are you sure it's a problem caused by a weak psu? I'm guessing it's something else, or then the power supply is on it's way out.

But if you need a new one then I'd go with this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341010

it's awesome for the price. 600W, 4x 12v rails, 80% efficiency, decent amps and a 5 star rating from newegg users. Not to mention that it's from a reliable brand.

could the problem then be someting with volts. i was told that my motherboard only supports .8v and 1.5v and not 3.5v. could this be the problem?
