Linux and GRUB

i dont have a windows vista cd cause i bought this computer at circuit city and vista was already on it. what should i do? could i possibly boot of the linux cd and do this?

Unlikely you'll need to reformat and grab a Vista DVD from someone, or since you have the key (I assume), you can download one. GRUB depends on a bootable OS. If you messed both partitions, GRUB can't find any bootable OS then, because you killed the bootsector probably.

GRUB is installed, but the bootsector is the problem. You've probab;y erased it, so that Erro means that there's no bootsector.
