Better Mod Communication

Seems the Mods here need to get together and communicate and figure out 1 set of rules.You have certain mods who ban for something and other mods saying i wouldn't have banned them for that. Then you have other mods saying i would never ban that person cause he is my friend. It is ridiculous. Then you have Mods saying i would ban that mod if possible. This place is falling apart IMO..Mods your members do not know what they can and can't do anymore.

I do have to say you bring up good points. That said, it isn't true for all mods. I am always in contact with Mark and Thelis to go over PMs, some iffy threads/posts, and even more recently an avatar. I'm not gonig to speak for the rest of the team and say that every mod does that, but at least some of us work together.

I will use muz an example for the next one. He is a good friend of mine on here and I respect him alot. I do like to think that he gives me the same respect that I give him. That also means he knows that when it comes down to it, my job here comes before him. I do not let him get away with things that other members cannot. If he does things like oh say porn spam, he will suffer the same fate as the rest of those Jessica Alba spammers.

maybe you should make this thread a thread that only you mods can post in, so the members on this forum can actively see you coming to a solution that allows you all to work to the same rules and consistency and not a thread that will probably just turn into more bicker

As for the thing the OP said, well, it is partly true. Mark, Cele and I communicate all the time through PMs, IMs, what have you... Unfortunately some other mods don't feel the need to do that.

perhaps the problem is that you're communicating off site and not on site.

you've never talked to me by IM, I've never talked to you by IM, (I don't have your screen name for a start)...
so perhaps the problem is that you are not communicating with all mods.

every time I take an action it's posted in the staff lounge. I can say that I've only once missed a posting in the staff lounge where I missed writing that I'd banned someone and what I'd banned them for. but I had written on the forum in public that I'd banned them and what I'd baned them for.


and with a perfectly good staff lounge why would you need to talk off site anyway?

Generally, it's quicker. Usually, me and Thelis are on AIM at the same time, so why PM him to ask him his oppinion on a thread, when I could just send him the message on AIM?

However, If i need someone else to help me watch a thread, or a member, I'll post about it, or find a mod that is usually on when they are, and PM them.

I find that the mods are very fair on the whole, [I'm not going into names here] if I offend they soon tell me, some more roughly than others, but that's the difference in people, mods aren't robots, they are people like you & me, they have personalities they have feelings, so don't be too harsh on them, they're only trying to do their job after all!
