Yesterday I had a notification from CF, clicked to go there & notices came up; "Cannot open Outlook Express", another, "AVG Control Centre; the red-lighted components are in error, please pay urgent attention to their configuration!, Shell extension; the shell extension DLL library is not installed & the email scanner is not fully functional"
All my email records had gone; sent/recieved/drafts/address book details the lot, then it crashed, so I pressed the re-set button & when it re-booted, everything was back to normal, AVG was once again fully functionable, Outlook Express was up & running again & all the missing areas were back, any ideas?

This morning when AVG did it's scheduled search it turned up a trojan, I wonder if that caused the problems, it's a generic 8.CZC, filename DV04 eH t exe, 124.5Kb temporary back-up copy, infected [info; AVG]
Techies, how bad is that? I know some trojans are worse than others.
