I was banned.

In general mods are all together on decisions. Whoever banned BrynF_UK did not make a customary post in the staff lounge. Usually there is a discussion about bans.

There have been a couple of people banned without the agreeance of all of the mods. BrynF_UK was one, Fishler was another one.

Most of the time the bans are justified. This is a singular incident, and I myself an wondering who banned Bryn. I am willing to be I know, but I do not want to make assumptions.

BF2player did you get a warning about posting any pointless threads, im thinking you didnt but my point is that the mod behind this has appeared to go ahead just as thelis has said without any proper thought behind it. what you mods need is some consistency with yourselfs. then and only then will people on this forum know where there stand.

im willing to beat that if you put in a system were the person in question of a ban gets a formal warning about whatever he is doing, will probably change his ways.

Then you can post in your staff lounge "Formal Warning: Joe Bloggs concerning spaming" then if another mod sees that person in violation of that formal warning they can ban him for it. This will eliminate any questioning of the ban as all mods can see that formal action ahs already taken place plus and the rules have been inforced but also gives a time frame for the mods to discuss it and most important give the person in question any time to react and change his ways to avoid a ban.

Then if the person still persists all you mods know whats going on and can say to anyone one arguing the ban that this formal warning was given, all mods agreed and the ban has been issued because the formal warning was ignored. end of

That is sort of what we usually do. This time a mod banned without consulting anyone.

Well, to clarify, we do this with minor offenses. With big ones mods just go ahead and ban... but this was a minor one.

Where in the FAQ does it say "No posting useless threads"?

Besides, isn't the Social Lounge a repository of useless threads?

it was a post with JUST a pic of a tomato on it

also i guess ill clear things up since my post is so "confusing"

i was banned for 7 days for "posting too many argumentitive threads that were locked", in other words, i was re posting threads that got locked before, even though...
1st one) locked for turning in to a joke thread
2nd one) locked because mark said i was wrong, than locked it and gave no reason
3rd one) locked at my request so i could make a new thread(the 4th one)
4th one) was locked and i was banned for "re posting locked threads" even though none were locked because of the subject.

Haha, lol--look at Thelis's avatar. What happened there? I know that it's Celegrom's avatar he's using.

Some of my threads got locked too but locked from other people's replies. I believe one time, I had 3 locked threads (all created by me) in a two week span. It's a record.

Whoa, huge delay here on CF. Man, what was that?

celegorm said "whoever has the time to find all these funny pics must have no life" and it was thelis who posted it up. and thelis said he was pulling out his anti celegorm avatar, though i keep thinking he is celegorm.

thelis change it back, i cant tell you guys apart unless i look right at the avatar\username

Haha, ROFL!!!! and more ROFL. *got tears in my eyes now* I guess that's one way to rebel without causing big troubles. Man, that's hilarious though.

Nope, no warning. I don't really classify it as spamming.. because it really wasn't spam. It was a tomato, and it somewhat had a purpose behind it. It's not like the porn spams or links to bad things.

^^ appears to be like my banning then; abit OTT. looks like someones got an itchy trigger finger :)

Banned for posting a pic of a tomato.

Thanks for the clarification Rudster816.

Seems like the locked threads and bannings are free flowing in this forum. I can see locking threads if they are highly offensive and contain inappropriate material. But this is ridiculous.
