how is the 4800+? is it considered a low-end or mid-range processor or what?
my moms computer is the only one in hte house that has upgrading capability, and thats the highest it goes.

right now its really underpowered with its 1.5GB ram and sempron 1800+ LOL

AND does anybody know how Vista Ultimate 64-bit will run on the 4800+ with 4GB of Dual-channel DDR400?

from what i've heard a dual core 4000+ runs good with 2gb of ram, so im sure the 4800+ will do great with 4gigs, only thing is it might be faster to use less ram, you have to find the sweet spot...

4800 is dual
and its socket 939

that should make that computer's life span much longer, specially if its just for basic uses like office\internet and stuff, wouldnt hurt to throw in like a 8400GS, that would really send the computer a couple years into the future. it will make video playback much better\faster, and it will take a load off the cpu, lessening the heat produced.

nvm its cheaper to build a new PC
with an E6400, that $90 gigabyte P35 board (supports quad), and that $60 GSkill 2GB ddr2
