Did my motherboard just go out?

Blast it all......... I just got the 80gb to show the partitions, and from there I continued to install.... until I got the blue "hardware failure" screen. That means it's more then likely not the hard drives. And the 2007 250gb HDD is SATA, not IDE. So what could it be? How do I find out if it's the RAM, PSU, CPU, GPU, MOBO, or CD drive? How can I fix it? Do I have to get something replaced?

Thanks.... I'm kinda depressed/stressed from all this.... If I don't respond, It's cause I jumped off a bridge... lol

2 hours and 12 minutes between double (identical) posts, Brookfield would be proud of that effort lol

Didn't jump yet then??

Any further progress??

Woot Woot! After more then a month, I finally got it! Turns out, the cord was bad. I swapped it out with the one from my old comp, and now I'm typing this from my new Vista self-built comp! Thanks so much!

The IDE cable?? lmfao, how many times did I suggest changing that ??

Good to see you solved the problem are you're up and running, after all that hassle you can now enjoy your pc.
