under the weight of a falling tree I'm sure a brick house would take about the same amount of damage as a wood house.

In a gale, a mature tree fell heavily against my brick-built bungalow, only very slight damage, but a six months old timber-built one just down the road by a reputable firm had a similar thing happen & had half of one side smashed in, luckily nobody was hurt,

There really isn't a good picture of my house in any of those pictures, but my neighbors house is bulit sorta the same. Wood with adspetos panneling that would cost 20000 and a few hazmat teams to remove. The house didn't get damaged that bad.
