FUCK YEA JACKSON RR!!! friggin amazing guitars. amazing tone. i love playing them sitting down lol cuz i can play faster that way :)

yeah I've only had the RR3 for less than 2 months and it takes gettin used to sitting down but I'm pretty comfortable with it now, I do prefer the Dinky though but I agree, Jacksons own!

Awesome dude, amazing guitars. Here's me with my "baby". haha

Nice guitar, what make is it? I'm guessing Ibanez?

Thats Jordan, he is one hell of a guitarist. Damn. Not many people are good like he is.

How good are you two?

I went through all his songs, not bad, has a symphonic doom feel to it which is a nice touch over the Thrash/Death style riffs. I listen to alot of 80s Thrash but I like contrast in my music so melodic passages and clean parts are awesome with a progressive song structure also.

As for how good I am, I'm more of a vocalist/rhythm guitarist/songwriter than a solo guitarist and I front a band named Kathexus. Check out our Myspace @ www.myspace.com/kathexus The 2 videos on our profile were filmed with our old drummer who recently left but we have a better replacement and we're currently working on our 8th song. If our application to the South Australian Youth Arts Board is approved, we'll use a $4400 (AUS) grant to record an 8 song EP in January that would be around 40mins long.

I like his song "Within a Dying Soul". That seems to match my playing style (both the solo riffs and heavy distorted guitar verses). He's pretty good, but I was really looking for a section of guitar that really sets him apart from other guitarists. Is there a particular song I should listen to that shows off his best skills?

You guessed right, It's an Ibanez RG7620. It's only the second guitar I have owned since I started playing about 4 years ago. You may be put off by the fact that it's a 7 string (most people are) but seriously, I downtune that low B string to a low A and adding that into some drop D distortion really sets it off. Besides I can play the guitar just as easily as a 6 string.

Also, you need to fix that link for your myspace page so I can check it out.

n/m i found it http://www.myspace.com/kathexus

gave the vids a listen. Not bad, although it's difficult to tell for sure due to the sound quality. I like the fact that the bassist is more involved cause I have seen a lot of amateur bands where the bass guitarist just plucks one or two notes the entire song. The second song was good (apart from the squealing of the amp lol). I enjoyed the lead guitarist's riffs.

haha yeah most bassists simply play root notes and double up what the guitarist is playing but yeah he's lucky about his guitar cause when he originally ordered a Spector right, they imported it in the wrong colour, then explained the colour he ordered was only available in Europe. So they suggested moving up to the next series which was a $3500 AUS bass and they gave him a good deal which was $2500 AUS roughly I think it was.

The bass is 5 string, the lead guitarist has a 7 song so with the 6 string Rhoads, I'll have to get it setup to tune to A# to basically play like a 7 string by sacrificing the high D# string which I don't always need. So they'll have to adjust the spring tension, intonation, neck's truss rod etc. I think I'll be up for 100 bucks!

With the amp, yeah the lead guitarist works his ass off so he's got about 8 guitars but now that he's been with us for 2 months he'll be getting a way better amp. That 15 watt marshall was hell annoying with the feed back. I fixed the thing so thanks for checking it out.
