my laptop, a vista equipped sony vaio, has a screen much cooler than my POS CRT TV from the 80's.
there is one S-video OUTput, and one plugin that might be a VGA plugin thing. it doesn't state whether or not it is an input or output plug.
the screen resolution is 1280x800, and i have the HD AV cords for my 360.
i would like to know if this is possible, and what i would need (programs, hardware) and the cost (estimate).
the laptop also has some large slot like plugins for internet adapters i think, if that helps at all.

thanks for helping me out.

It is most likely going to be an output VGA which means it won't work with the Xbox 360 VGA adapter I'm afraid :(

You probably cant. There might be some kind of software and conversion box that can convert your hd cable to USB and then it can plug into the computer and run a program.

You can't laptops have outputs. It won't work, unless you get an USB TV tuner. Plug to USB and it will go.
