The processor is all set since you're getting it retail. No need to worry there as it comes with Intel heatsink/fan combo all packaged already with the CPU. For the case, you may need to buy fans.

I'll still need fans with the Air Conditioner Cooling System? 1st time ever using AC, so I don't know.

Only problem with using odd number RAM modules is you lose dual channel capability.

Also should I stick with the Core 2 duo in my list or the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail? The Quad is a bit cheaper. Which is better?

Get the quad, definitely.

Do you really need SLI? If not, then I'd stay away from that motherboard. Get like a P5B-E.

yeah probally get the quad. I could oc it a bit with no problems to compare to newer ones.
