what are the REALLY high resolutions for?

people who design levels, characters, models, for games use a very high resolution on high end monitors to do there magic, specially for the latest hi def games, they need to be able to fit the actual game window, and then all the toolbars and stuff in the same window.

yea...i see how it could be used for that, but they dont have monitors that high up. well i seen a few CRT monitors in the 2xxx X 2xxx pixel range

thats impressive for a 30" screen

and that 7680×4800 res. is for things like that jumbotron at your football stadium, anything much lower would make the pixels as big as this post :p
