Critique my build...

lol dude a simple over clock and the only edge those cards have is a little more ram

Ok, This is what I ended up ordering:

-Q6600 cpu
-MSI 8800GTS 640MB
-Corsair 620w PSU
-Abit IP35 Pro motherboard
-OCZ 2 gig DDR2 RAM
-150gb Western Digital Raptor HD
-Zalman copper heat sink/92mm fan CPU cooler

They say the CPU cooler works for all dual core Intels, does that mean it will work with the Core 2 Quad? I hope so.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother with an aftermarket cooler. Intel designed their CPU heatsink/fan to withstand heat stress on their targeted CPU.

But if you insist on getting aftermarket cooling, look for something that clearly supports the Q6600. However, the Q6600 uses the same socket LGA775 as the dual cores do and they're shaped the same way so I don't see how the Zalmans won't fit on a Q6600.

I still can't believe you took the Abit and the zalman...

The Abit board has many good reviews. Plus, I have owned Abit in 2 different computers for 5 years with no problems. Hopefully the streak continues.

What wrong with the CPU cooler?
