Today's cartoons has nothing on the classics

Tom & Jerry is another great classic. Not the new ones though. I love the old scratchy film type filter in the old cartoons. Like Popeye for example.

Captain Planet has a pretty good theme song to it. I've always like that girl in the cartoon (the bad girl). Probably the best is the Transformers cartoon back then. I tried watching the new Transformers Cybertron and it just doesn't have the same appeal. Too simple and too fake looking (for a cartoon). I hate it basically.

The Voltron was another highlight too. I hope to see a movie of this made someday. Gobots was made to counter the Transformers phenom. It did well, but Transformers was too good. I even had the Leader-1 toy and Cykill gobots. The power suits were too expensive.

You will notice the theme music on most of the 80's cartoons to be pretty good. You can actually dance to them, lol. The new cartoons don't even have music to them anymore. They're just sounds and effects now.

.....I have to watch those Youtube's again. Ghostbusters cartoon was another good classic. It's a spinoff from the movie because it did so well back in the 80's. I watched all the movies. I hear rumors that a new movie was going to be made with all new special effects. That should be good to see.

I'm sorry, but I can't stand transformers at all. Be it that stupid new movie or the oldies from before my teen years.

I can't watch most of these anymore, they just don't interest like they used to.

I'm more of an anime person.. but even then, few animes interest me. I'm not interested in that high school drama or physco comedy crap.

It requires a real story line and characters I can take serious. I only laugh at something if it is funny, not if it is stupid. It needs to make sense.

OMG, I completely forgot about the cartoon, "Visionaries"!!!! I even collected their action figures too. They have these holograms on the front of their suits. Each one has a unique attack abilites. Kind of like a Dungeon and Dragon type deal or a Yugi-Oh doohicky.

How do you like them songs? Wow, Spiral Zone!!!!!! Forgot about that too!!! OMFG double OMG, "Mask"!!!! I use to sing that song all the time. I was wondering what the name of that cartoon was. All I can remember was the red car transformig into a flying mobile. Now I know. Thank god for Youtube!!! Lol, Pole Position. Whew. Notice how all these old cartoons are all about robots, transformations, and technology oriented. I guess that's the trend of the 80's. The 90's and the 2000's have their own unique thing with cartoons. I think the 90's, you see a lot of superhero and Looney Toon spinoff cartoons. The 2000's, well, it got boring. Everyday life stuff . I freaking miss my childhood!!!! Now I understand the meaning of, "the good old days". Heathcliff and Inspector Gadget, hehe. Haven't seen that in a long time.

There's just something special about these theme songs that you don't hear anymore. The 80's rule.

Man, this thread is like the best. I'm keeping this in my Favorites folder for future referencing since the whole collection of 80's cartoons are here!!!!

Yeah, that's the other one I've been interested in. I watched the entire show about a month ago, including the movie. It's actually pretty realistic and believable despite the "oogy-boogey" stuff like the drivers' aura.

Well, the show is supervised by none other than Keiichi Tsuchiya, the father of touge racing. So of course it'll be realistic and believable.

If you don't know who he is shame on you.
