AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ vs the P4 3.4 ghz

ok i h ad a post ask bout 3 diff cpus and now i have to make a updated one because they sold outa the celleron d 3.46 ghz and the 2.66 pentium d now all i have left to choose from is a amd athalon 64 x2 3800+ and the P4 3.4 ghz that i already own i would get the athalon 5000+ dual core also but the site im getting all my stuff from does not carry hsf for it and im not dealing with newegg or tiger direct and i dont reall have the extra money for that cpu so its a duel between P4 3.4 ghz and athlon 64 x2 3800+ im lookin for over clocking abilty idle temps stressed temps and speed compared between the 2 really i need to know with is better alround for gaming and over clocking these 2 cpus are my last and final choice so keep that in mind plz wen u mke a reply ty

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, hands down. Quad core is by far the fastest CPU ever if you can get it.
