Making my own computer need help buying parts. (Look Inside!)

I also have a Geforce FX 5200 AGP graphics card and a CDR-W drive I am exporting from my old computer to this new one.

I talked with my teacher and he said that there could possibly be a better alternative motherboard that would work better, he wasn't too sure. The Processor is moving faster than the ram which may cause some slowdown? Does it really matter? My teacher was also not sure if it would work. He said it seems like it would work and gave it a 99% chance but he also said some parts have weird stories which don't want to work with other parts.

This is already over my original sought out price. I planned to get a new PC for 300 but its already 44 over. =( Please try to not make me spend more.

I also plan to use this computer for a long time. I play some games but not many. I plan on playing Starcraft II (possibly) and maybe games that have the same specs as WoW (i dont play just an example). This will be a gaming PC but I don't play games too oftenly. I usually play lowerend games anyway. I don't plan on getting a new graphics card anytime soon though.

RAM being faster won't slow down anything.

I would personally change your motherboard though. I have never heard of that brand. Getting a well known brand supports you more.

A good CPU cooler for that CPU would be a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7. Look it up

I also found out that that case if very cheap and not very sturdy when reading its cons. Can someone give me an alternate cheap case to get?

Harddrive-
For now I am not going to buy a harddrive. Instead I just plan to take out my current Harddrive and use that for a while until I can afford a new one. It is either get a new harddrive or get a pentium d instead of a pentium duo. I think i made the better choice. Anyway I should have no problems exporting my harddrive to the new compute rright? I need a SATA for that type of motherboard? I am using a dell optiplex gx150 so that is most likely SATA HDD right?

Total is only 280.84 for a much better machine in my opinion. =)

Yeah the Freezer 7 is a very good CPU cooler. May not be the best out there, but its certainly the cheapest.

Ah, your getting a Core 2 DUO now? I'm afraid Newegg is down though, so I can't check what you are getting.

If you are switching to a Core 2 though, you may be best off getting a Zalman 9700 CPU cooler instead, but that said, if you aren't overclocking, you'll be fine with the Freezer 7

RAM:
Don't know about the RAM though. The Hynix is probably the make, but wouldn't know what the specs are.

POWERSUPPLY:
You don't want to be fitting any old power supply in there. Some PSU's (especially cheaper ones) aren't very reliable and efficent. Spending more on a PSU is actually a good idea, than what you'd get in a case already anyway.

FAN:
80mm ones tend to be very loud, so your looking for a nice, possibly temperature controlled fan with good efficency.
