New Build For 1000-1300

CPU- Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Socket LGA775, 2.66 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB, 4MB L2 Cache, 65nm or Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

Mobo- Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus Socket 775 nVidia 650i or any good mobo that can handle quad or C2D

RAM- Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400 Matched Pairs 2GB Kit

HDD- Seagate Barracuda (ST3320620AS) 7200.10 320GB

Case- any cheap case for 50-60 bucks i guess

P/S- pc power and cooling silencer 750W

QUESTIONS
what is better quad or dual for someone who does ocassional gaming but will use this computer more for autocad and graphic programs?
what mobo would be good for a E6750? and what would be good for the Q6600? i do not intend on overclocking by the way.
Last question how much watts is good for this build?

currently the core 2 duo is better then the quad and id say a 600w psu with 35amp 12v rail(dual) will run that fine

EDIT: a intel board will do u fine unless u plan on sli'in also do u want canadain or american links?

i live in canada so canadian links would be great for, i would like sli just for the future when i get another graphics card

Get the Q6600 if you're not overclocking. And it will be great for CAD.

That's an awesome power supply, but it's way overkill. I'd say the 560 watt Silverstone ST56ZF would be a good choice. The 600 watt Ultra X-Finity would also be pretty nice.
