1tb disks blue ray no more

Thelis is that one 1 piece of paper or do you layer your paper to store more data?:p

Oh... that.. It just has the vault info to that bank in Zurich where I keep all my diamo ... I mean... uhhh...

*sneaks away*

I remember seeing a disk that could hold a stupid amount of data - even more than that disk - but it was made up of protiens that died after a couple of years so isn't very reliable

It may be expensive but its a brilliant piece of invention, but like Muz said you spend 2months lol backing up the data then just as it finalizes the disc you computer crashes or you Burner laser burns out:eek: , you would go into orbit or at list the disc would, Id be indescribably

P.S Id still like one or two or three ........:)

ive heard of something like that... if i remember right it was 50 terrabytes? but still, a 1 tb disk is simply amazing. i dont think the general public would be able to get full use out of it, or even afford one, but its great.

edit::
Here are some things i found on Wikipedia:
Holographic Versatile Disk: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_Versatile_Disc Could potentially hold 3.9 terrabytes of data.
Protein-coated disk: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protein-coated_disc Could potentially hold 50 terrabytes of data.

50tb PCD's

i like this bit on the 50TB wikipedia thing...

"Renugopalakrishnan's team... estimate that a USB disk will be commercialised in 12 months and a DVD in 18 to 24 months as of July, 2006" or not as the case may be lol.

it's still a nice thought for people with alot of money but small houses. (are there people like that?) lol

No kidding!

Same reactions with different numbers!

Lol well look at hard drives for another comparison. My first computer had almost 1gig on the hardrive and it was ultra high end with its extreme 75mhz cpu. Think top of the line was like 100mhz at that time. Now if you don't have at least a 160gig harddrive you have no storage whatsoever.

I'd love to see that. Just make on backup disc and add to it as you get things you want to back up. I already do it with dvd-rw's as I get say 500megs of stuff I don't wanna lose i'll back it up on disc.

Same concept just a much bigger window before you need another disc lol. That would be sweet. Look at it this way. With the way the movie industry is going everything is downloadable these days so say they come up with software in windows media center to let you bring up that disc with o say 125 movies saved on it. That would be freaking sweet i'm sure you could compress alot more but thats just going at say 8gigs a movie

what about flash memory as hard drives? flash memeory is cheep and so much friken faster.... u think they could make flash memory with a couple hundred g on it
