Hey to all the computer experts!! Ive recently decided to start building my own computer using newegg.com. My comp right now is only 3 years old but im tiried of having to upgrade the RAM and video cards and everything else that is out of date. In the end it will be just as expensive as building a new one. I have only had one computer and don't know much about it. Here are the links to the main body of "The Dream Machine." LOL. Everything could be better but im tryin to stay under 1000$. This is without monitor and other stuff. I just need to know if they will all work together. Thanks

Please comment on this! I dont know if all the parts are compatible with each other. Thanks!

I would change the video card and the motherboard. as for the processor go for the C2D.

video card is OK and for the CPU go with the Core 2 Duo the Ds run Very hot

Also the mobo i would change Like go with an asus cuz with intel u have locked bios sooooo u cant OC the C2D which is the selling point to most buyers

Sooo C2D Different Mobo and try to go with a lil better video card

Like everyone else said, get the Core 2 Duo processor. Much better.

NEED WOW NOW - You can overclock Intel motherboards just fine.

would it be better going with the 680i? im not sure but i think the intel's OC better but im not sure.

also get an aftermarket cooler.

I've had a few mobo's and have to say this is a breeze to overclock (680i) as much as i hate nvidia for their abysmal vista drivers , i love their chipsets.
