My Computer is Running Slow !!

hey guyz ..

well .. im experiencing an annoying problem ..

my laptop is slowing down .. and windows is running really slow .. after like 15 mins of working ..

i dont know whats the problem ..

my laptop is 2.8 GHz intel pentium 4
1 gega of ram
120 hard disk
128 VGA
and running windows xp professional edition

plz help ..

Ok firstly you dont need to make three threads to get help round here

But anyway
Check the list of startup programs in ms config and disabel any that are not need
Disable any unwanted services using ms config
Defrag the hard disk
Run antivirus and adaware scans

Also check your temps and see if it's overheating. If so buy a laptop cooler for it.

well ..

as im on stubborn computer .. it doesnt show if its loading the next page ..

so i clicked the button 3 times .. and i thought the thread was added only once

i know i dnt have to place it 3 times to get help .. or i may place it 10 times to get help quickly and accurate .. right

2nd .. i tried this but its not working ..

i know those ways .. but .. non sense

so plz if any one could help .. i'll be gratful

Yeah no worries , i just noticed the site is running slow as well so that could be to fault .
Anyway .
another program to try is cc cleaner that removes the unwanted/un needed junk of your machine
Also remove any unwanted programs and file downloads then defragment the hard drive

Ok let's clean the hard drive first.
Crap Cleaner from www.ccleaner.com
Find Junk Files from http://www.download.com/Find-Junk-Files/3000-2248_4-10276819.html

Spybot S & D from http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
Wise reg cleaner from http://www.wisecleaner.com/download.html

May have to run the crap cleaner and the reg cleaner several times to get all the junk out. Be sure to run the hard drive tools you get to by right clicking the drive icon and selecting properties.
Almost done. Defrag the drive even if xp tells you it doesn't need it. After you run those programs you'll need to, trust me.
And lastly look in the tray and see what all programs are running. You know, the ones over by the clock.
On the other hand it could be getting hot and throttling back the cpu. Check the vents to make sure they're clear of obstructions. Might want to get a can of air and do some dusting of the keyboard and the vents.
Not to worry though, it's always something simple.

i want to tell u guyz that i just installed the windows and its clean .. i didnt install any programes

just the windows installed and the computer drivers .. thats all ..

but i think the problem is the heat ..

cause its really hot .. and it wasnt like that in winter ..

but now in summer its like hell .. dont want to move

Heat can be bad for laptops . and people seem to think laptops dont suffer with dust . The other week i cleaned my laptops fan cos it was clogged thick with dust and kept overheating
